Hi, I'm Emily Wafer

 — The owner and sole stylist here at Vibes Salon. Growing up, creativity and beauty were always designed in the fabric of my life. My grandmother was a licensed beautician and my mother a licensed nail technician, so it felt natural, almost inevitable that I'd find my own place in the beauty world too.

After graduating from Cibola High School in Albuquerque, NM, I followed that calling and enrolled at the TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy near the University of New Mexico in downtown Albuquerque. It was there that my passion really came to life. I became a member of the TONI&GUY Academy Design Team, where I got to participate in design challenges and give back through charitable events around the city — experiences that shaped not just my technical skills, but my love for community and connection.

I followed TONI&GUY to their Uptown Albuquerque location, where I completed my training and graduated shortly after. On July 14, 2014, I passed my state board exam and officially earned my cosmetology license,  a moment I'm incredibly proud of and one that marked the beginning of a journey I've loved every step of.

Since then, I've been lucky enough to grow alongside some truly talented people in the industry, expanding my skills and staying curious every step of the way, from mastering balayage to becoming certified in Brazilian Blowout. Every technique I've learned has been in service of one goal: making sure every single client who sits in my chair feels as beautiful, unique, and authentically themselves as possible.

That has always been, and always will be, my priority.
